About US
Lee began life as an fine art restorer & conservator in 1968 when he started work at The Willeston Galleries in Wellington.
My passion for art began in 1968 when I began to study picture framing & art restoration at The Willeston Galleries WGN.I eventually set up my own business in 1976 and began exploring & expanding on all the different aspects and intricacies of art. As well as being given the trust of restoring and conserving many works in private hands I have also been fortunate to have had the pleasure of working on some NZ’s most note worthy & important artists works including -C.F.Goldie- F.M. Hodgkins- C.D. Barraud- S.C. Brees- M. Stoddard- G. Lindauer etc
To be able to bring a damaged / stained piece of art back to what the artist originally intended is a genuine joy. I restore both oil and watercolour paintings
it was this love of fine art and the understanding & appreciation of how light and colour interact that lead me to create my own works. My passion & style of painting is to try to create works that the viewer can understand & relate to. I like to use the play of light on everyday objects such as detailed images of driftwood, rocks and sea.
